It's been a busy week so I'm glad to be winding down for the weekend (which hmm is kinda busy but in a very good, social way!)

Tired of faux fur and want to stock up on easy-breezy silky print tops and dresses?  Make me jealous and head to the Yumi Kim sample sale.  The prices are ridiculous and that can only mean you must stock up now.

Girly jackets, well structured dresses, and my favorite summer hat were all found at a Nanette Lepore sample sale.  What goodies will you find?  Definitely drop by if you can!

...having pizza with truffles.  Ultimate chic 'n cheap food.  Mmm truffles.

It's unbelievable, ridiculous and amazing that you can get designer items for the price of dinner ($20, $30) at these annual sample sales (actually this is the first Yumi Kim sale I've heard of).  Check out the Yumi Kim sale soon New York lovelies and make me jealous!  Let us know what you get!


There is also an awesome sale online.  This is one of my favorites now.  This designer makes some of my favorite dresses, tops, and rompers for the warm weather - gorgeous patterns in lovely silks, what's not to like?

Designer Thursday - Yumi Kim (fun, flirty, frolick-worthy dresses and a sale!)

I'd like to think I'm a modern, but somewhat romantic girl and it's reflected in my clothing.  As I pore through my shared closet (*gasp* I know but that's what the place came with) and retain pieces I really love, I am of course keeping the staples: LBD, white button down shirts, and a few tops or dresses with bold, yet soft prints. 

Yumi Kim's clothing covers the last section well.  All the items in the shop are made of a lightweight silk and if they're not in a striking color, they're in a lively, multi-hued print - it's like your fun-loving, sweet Californian friend made these for you.  I have a few Yumi Kim pieces already and love the draping and prints - the fit and material are of course also perfect for warm weather.

Now is a great time to check out Yumi Kim because everything is 25% off (including sale stuff) until May 28 - 31 with code yksale (or just hope in the store and mention the same thing).  Sigh of course they don't have my size for the dress I've been eyeing but there are lovely options all around.

My Birthday - passionfruit cheesecake, Yumi Kim, Fit Flop sandals and Swiss Chocolate

I almost forgot but today is my birthday!  Woot!  You know some years, there's just so much else going on that you kinda forget your own birthday.
So this past year has been a whirlwind:

• graduated from grad school
• entered the wonderful world of blogging
  
• got married
• moved to London
• and soon (crossing fingers they agree to my pay proposal) starting a new project in London and getting that other job I've been lusting after
  

Since I didn't want to spend a ton of money and we'll be hanging out with a bunch of friends next week anyway, we went out to a small Vietnamese restaurant in Soho.  Mmm spring rolls and grilled pork.  Although our waitress wasn't Ms. Sunshine, the food was good (seriously Americans, we are spoiled by mostly good wait service).  The best part was going to one of my favorite Italian bakeries, Princi and picking this beautiful passionfruit cheesecake (more like mousse) up.  Seriously, please go if you are in London or Milan. Yep, it tastes divine.

Otherwise, pretty simple wishes for my wish list.  The Mr. and I have left our old lives, friends, and family behind so he could really pursue this degree and the job he really wants to do.  I hope we both get the jobs we want and it's a great year for our careers.

But of course I wouldn't mind some little things like these comfy boots (I NEED them since I have a weird foot pain now, please go on sale!)

Of course I've been lusting after a Yumi Kim Shelly.  Totally getting it.  On sale of course because Yumi Kim is having 30% off everything for "Pink Friday" until Nov. 30 (enter code ykpinkfriday).  Loves it!

 

Oh and totally going to Switzerland for a long weekend.  Living in Europe is pretty awesome.  In the time it takes to go to Chicago, I can go to another country.  I'll definitely eat some chocolate for you and take pictures!
