FFF - Barney's Warehouse sale, ASOS 15% off and a healthy dose ofculture

Happy Fun, Free Friday lovelies!

Online Discounts
For the first time ever, get a peek into the Barney's Warehouse sale!  I'm definitely going to see if there are any cute flats (and this is so much better than digging through the piles at the brick and mortar sale!)

I've been thinking about getting a bright colored cross body (red, yellow, or blue please!) for a while now.  I'm on the fence about Cambridge Satchel purses (hmm do I love the shape?) but the color is definitely pretty, like a bright blue sky!

If you are tempted by this bag or anything else at ASOS, get 15% off until Saturday with code 321GO. I need to check out dresses too!

Save!
- Go to Ebates first and get cashback off your entire purchase!  Here is my invite if you'd like it.

Otherwise this weekend...
...I am going to try to get to an exhibit or two.  I have been meaning to get to the museums and I really haven't had the chance to do that.  As much as I complain about the lack of museums, I should at least also really explore them.  I'll let you know how my quest for culture goes!

What are you doing this weekend?

Have a fabulous weekend!

Hot under {$100-under $80!}/Sale Spotlight: Pareos aka coverups

Do you actually need cover ups in your closet?

I can sheepishly say that I don't need a few items in my closet anymore (adieu blue gingham shorts!)  But I certainly feel like I need a cute pareo/sarang/coverup when I am traveling, especially to a tropical locale.  I love pareos for a few reasons:
1. You can wear them in multiples ways - skirt, scarf, or dress
2. They are easy to pack and pretty versatile
3. Chiffon ones dry more quickly enabling it to be easily re-wearable on the same trip

Here are a few fun pareos if you are still planning on going to the pool or beach in the last days of summer:
1. Shadow chiffon floral coverup pareo, Land's End, $24.99
2. Kate Spade Cockatoos pareo, Zappos, $75.99
4. Ombre chiffon coverup, Land's End, $24.99

Travel Log:Hitting the shopping district of Nanjing West Road/Xi Lu

I love shopping, though I don't necessarily have to buy something every time I'm out on a shopping trip.

Shopping is also the chance for me to see and feel (I'm one of those people that has to touch a piece of clothing or decor in a store), hang out with friends, and soak in the environment and architecture of an area.  I was on Shanghai's Nanjing Road and was definitely there to get a feel for the district, rather than buy anything.
Tip: International brands are usually more expensive in Asia (up to 30-40% more depending on the country) except for Hong Kong.  Save by shopping in the US for most brands (or Europe for European brands!

The area itself was quite serene and intimate at night.  The buildings were relatively low and accented by soft lighting and understated architecture.

Some malls will leave a spot empty for KFC franchises.  The fast food chain is that popular and will bring the necessary food traffic (don't mess with the Chinese people's love for chicken!)
