Chic 'n Cheap Living Contest: All Clad Bakers, Le Creuset 6 quart stockpot , or $50 (US, Canada)

It's go time for holiday shopping!  I don't have too many gifts to think about, but I am wondering what to get the gadget obsessed, increasingly fashion conscious Mr. Spend 'n Chomp.  He loves to carry his Kindle and iPad around - he got a small bag just for these as his wedding present from one of our dear friends.  But he doesn't have a larger messenger bag.  There are leather messenger bags at CSN stores which I've increasingly used for houseware, kitchenware, and now accessories!   While a messenger bag would be a great gift for him, just call me the domestic diva because I'd love to add more quality cookware to my collection.

Chic 'n Cheap Living Contest: Le Creuset 6 Quart stockpot (US & Canada)

Isn't it funny how our priorities and interests evolve as we get older?  We start thinking about types of wine glasses to have in our homes, sheets that should go in a guest room, baby gates that are best for baby shower gifts, and open ourselves up to a whole other world of shopping (hmm apologies if I'm just speaking for me here, just my shopping list in the last few weeks!)  It's only a matter of time before I have to look for kids bedding (not for me yet my friends are definitely starting up their little families!) 

Another aspect of evolved interests are well stocked kitchens.  I've got a soft spot for great kitchen equipment.  I totally vouch for quality cookware and tools because the cost of one great set will outlast a few sets of cheaper stuff.  One of my favorite brands is Le Creuset. I have bought and gifted quite a few pieces of Le Creuset (yes a few of my friends know to expect Le Creuset and a check for their weddings!).  They make fun, durable pieces in the happiest colors and there's a lifetime guarantee for many of their enamel cast iron pieces!  I wax poetic about them all the time and this is an item that I believe is really worth the price.

Housewares - Le Creuset deals and a lust item

ALS, lE cI have loved Le Creuset for years and purchased several pieces when Amazon had deals several years ago (e.g. buy a 7 quart, get a 3 quart free!) They are great wedding gifts (retail is usually over $200), last a lifetime (lifetime warranty), and are beautiful in the kitchen.
The best Le Creuset deals are at their factory outlets. My FI's friend had this on their Williams Sonoma registry.

• $305 retail
• $230 Williams Sonoma price
• $162.71 AFTER 8.375% tax (bought 2). I saved almost $90 and got them EXACTLY what they wanted!

The Le Creuset outlet was having an Easter egg promotion - 20-30% off depending on the egg. The associate at the beginning of the day wasn't willing to have me purchase over the phone. But the one at the end of the day did and I got a 30% off egg! Sign up for their mailing list to get the 30-35% flyer semiannually.

I love housewares and am also lusting these dishes from Working Class Studio. They're pretty expensive, but they're so colorful and unique! Definitely an idea for the registries...What kind of housewares do other brides love?
