Gift Guide: Fun gifts for the home (and under $50)

The season of gift giving is just around the corner (how did it sneak up like that?!) and there are precious few weeks to shop.  This is also the time of get togethers, office parties, and secret santas so it is great to have extra small gifts on hand.  I've come up with this list of fun gifts for the host/hostess (while you're ordering personalized cookies for your host, you may be tempted to order some for yourself too!)

Fun Finds {Gifts for Kids}: Baboo Clever Clips

Baboo is a cool series of clips that can be clipped to children's artwork.  Kids design their own shapes and attach them to clips to create a three dimensional theatre of their work.  I love the simplicity of this set and how it enables kids to really use their imagination.  This was originally inspired by children who live near Gaza and suffered from post-traumatic symptoms.  But I don't see it as simply a therapeutic tool, I see toys that really allow the kids to be the artists and make their creations come to life (this is definitely on the short list for the nieces!)

Workroom Wishlist

Since we are moving to a new city (that has an Ikea!), a new house (where I get a sewing/work room!), I wanted organized on the cheap (since moving is expensive!). I already have the Moses Swivel Chair from the Atlanta Ikea last year, so I'm basing my look around a simple $40 chair! Sewing rooms need to be monochromatic in my opinion - too much fuss makes it messy/disorganized. I want it to be sleek, sharp and easy to find but without being too sterile. So, I'm mixing black and white with a few natural woven storage pieces and warm lighting. The room I've chosen in the house has tons of natural light, so the look should be just fine. Hoping Santa has a BIG sack!
