OpenSky and Alexander McQueen Giveaway
I first talked about OpenSky a few weeks ago.  It is a cool curated flash sale site with a variety of products from apparel to gourmet food.  Curators are celebrities from Molly Sims to Ming Tsai and they select a few products that are on sale for a few days.  I have found the product selection to be pretty interesting and already made my first purchase of mixed gourmet mushrooms from the site (mmm black trumpet mushrooms!)  I also find the limited selection to be easier to browse as opposed to other flash sale sites (every curator offers one or two different items though there are quite a few curators).
But the coolest thing is that new members can be entered to win classic Alexander McQueen clothing (oh I wish I was eligible!)

Otherwise, this weekend I am...
...headed to one of the city's best fishmongers to find some great shrimp, lobsters, and snapper!  I don't cook that much seafood, but I do want to try.  I also haven't found great, fresh fish at the local supermarket so I am excited to find a place that is celebrated for its fresh fish.  It is a great way to shop locally and get to know someone that is skilled at his (tasty) trade.

Have you heard of OpenSky?  It's a new sale site with a twist: each of the items is hand-picked by celebrity curators. They have a huge range of curators from Bobby Flay to Molly Sims to Joy Behar and Padma Lakshmi.  I like that the celebrities cover a wide range of categories from food to style and design.  While the celebrity curators are different, I really like the diverse selection of offerings (think Spanish olive oil selected by Padma Lakshmi to a Julia dress by Wren chosen by Kristin Cavallari).

Otherwise, this weekend I am...
...heading to Phuket, Thailand!  I am very proud of Mr. Spend 'n Chomp because it is the first trip that he has planned (well sorta, he bought the tickets and suggested a few activities).  We're tentatively going to see the James Bond island and go to a cooking class.  Hopefully we can schedule both things in and get some beach time in as well!  Of course I'll share pictures!
