A moment in Time captured by Life Magazine: Guest post at Ciao Chessa

Do you remember sitting on your couch at home on a Sunday afternoon fingering through your family's magazines as a child?  My parents didn't order that many magazines, but they definitely bought a few issues of "Life" magazine for its simple and beautiful images.

"Life" is an iconic magazine that needed few words because its pictures provided such a deep and meaningful portrait of the period's life and times.  I've written a guest post at dear Ciao Chessa's blog (herself an amazing photographer) about "Life" magazine and some of my favorites pictures from its pages over the years.

Photo Love: Holga appreciation with Jagger Photography

I don't admit to knowing much about classic film cameras.  But I've learning a little more in my photographer blog stalking.

The Holga gives a timeless, soft feel to the photos.  It's like instant vintage photos - love that.  According to Wikipedia, this affordable toy camera is known for its lens that "displays vignetting, blur, light leaks, and other distortions."  These imperfections are actually highly sought after by photographers.

I don't know what film camera our photographer used, but I loved the grainy, classic quality.

 

I love picture of bridges or roads.  Where will the road go?  What will happen when we get there?  What waits for us on the other side?  We may not know but life is all about finding out.

 

Until then, sit back and enjoy the view.

And man, I have a lot of shopping and decorating to do!
