When to get the marriage license

In many states, you can obtain your marriage license 60 days prior to the wedding date. Google your city and determine how early you can get it.

In New York, you can start the process online, but have to get the license from the city clerk together (the latter is true for most states). So I'm leaving early to get it with Mr. Chic 'n Cheap.

Remember to bring your gov't issued ID, check, and anything else required (witnesses in some states).

Also check to see when the clerk closes. Our closes at 3:45 pm so we have to get there early!
