Savvy vs Splurge: Kate Spade and Juicy Couture Cockatoo Bangles (both hot under $150)

That Kate Spade is always creating one cute thing after another.

The present subject of cuteness: cockatoos.

Seriously - tropical birds? Yep, these spiky haired birds are in a few places through out the Kate Spade website and now the bangle is most definitely on my wish list. But I also happened to find a similar version of the bangle for Juicy Couture in which the bird is much more pronounced and the bangle itself is just under $100. I'd still go for the Kate Spade for the slightly subtler effect. Which bangle would you pick?

Savvy vs. Splurge: Maison Martin Margiela Acrylic cuff and Talbot's Tapered cuff

Do you have a cutting edge, modern fashion style?

Err I don't necessarily. I have ore of a classic, feminine style with a slight modern flair. But even though I'm not bold in my dress, I like to add edgy accessories. It was love at first sight when I spotted the Maison Margiela acrylic glass cuff - they tempered it so the material is extremely durable. I also love the color too - the smokey gray is so versatile! I'd love it even more if it went on sale, but in the meantime I found an alternative version of this cuff at Talbot's.

{Guest Post} Savvy vs. Splurge finds from Couture Carrie

Shopping is a constant balancing act as one contemplates "Is this item worth the closet space and/or funds?!" While there are some items for which one may find worthy savvy selections (e.g. Cetaphil cleanser is always one of my savvy beauty finds), there are others that are worth the splurge (Chanel reissue 2.55 purse anyone?)
